Hello music lovers,
Today’s post features two of my favorite artists: the rappers Eminem and Macklemore!
I decided to create a Rap mashup of both artists over the sound Safe by Petit Biscuit, a young french Dj.
I was scrolling down in my phone’s pictures and I saw these pictures:
The first one is from march 2019. I had a stop at the San Francisco airport on my way to Hawaii with my mom and we randomly ran into Petit Biscuit. He was really nice. This meeting allowed me to start listening to his old songs but also to discover his new tracks.
The two other pictures are from june 2019. It was in Paris at the festival “Solidays”. I only went to this festival to see Macklemore. I do not regret it. The show was incredible. His texts are magic and awesome to listen with you headphones but the show he produces is just beyond incredible.
These two meetings made me appreciate these artists even more. Today, I wanted to present to you this mashup to honor them and to be “happily nostalgic” (wink to yesterday’s post) about these two wonderful moments.
For this mashup I decided to reuse the Macklemore mashup I rapped at my high school concert in april 2019 with my friend Julie, that I mentioned in the first post. I had to make some adjustments to fit the rhythm of Petit Biscuit’s music. Safe alternates between a very calm atmosphere and a more crazy one. It was challenging to fit Macklemore’s words every time.
This is why I added Eminem to this mashup. He is a rapper too, and one of the most talented. And who knows, maybe honoring him in this mashup will increase my chances of meeting him too!
Here is today’s mashup. I named it: Be Safe but lose yourself, you’ll be glorious with your wings!
