Hello Music Lovers
The mating season is arriving fast in the animal world. Since humans are animals too, we feel it as well. In today’s blog post I want to present to you a mashup matching this theme.
I chose to match songs that evoke the flesh desire and the crazy attraction that beings feel towards each other. The songs that I selected all talk about this feeling.
The first one is Powerful by Ellie Goulding (https://youtu.be/o6b9JpBFjd4) and Major Lazer. In the first few words “Oh my my my”, the repetition of “my” highlights the rad nature of this feeling and the effect it has on you. It is so Powerful that it makes you sutter.
The second song is Fire on Fire by Sam Smith (https://youtu.be/vk_xq1P7vIU). The element of fire symbolises passion. It makes us think about an effusion of attraction. Sam Smith says himself that it is an almost too dangerous feeling: “fire on fire would normally kill us”.
The third one is Feel so close by Calvin Harris (https://youtu.be/KtqQYPUJk8E). I put this one in the mashup because the artist expresses clearly the proximity brought by this feeling. The use of the first person also pleased me because it brings the person reading the words or listening to them closer to the text.
The last song and also the one I sang all the others over is the karaoke version of Addicted to you by Avicii (https://youtu.be/8uZT_hGUbqM). I really liked the title. It reminds me of the consequences of this feeling and how it can lead you to insanity with addiction. But most of all, I chose this song because of its beat which reminded me of a beating heart racing.
